Our Tale is for families. You upload photos of people you love so we can illustrate a book. This page says what we keep, what we delete, and who else sees a photo.

What we store in your family file

Photos you upload, names, ages, saved characters, and the stories you make. That file is yours. We do not sell it.

What we store as anonymized story trends

When you agree at sign-up, we keep a redacted record of each saved story: theme, setting, plot shape, character types (child, adult, or pet, not names), and the story’s intended audience. No names, photos, real ages, or anything that identifies your family. Those rows can remain after you delete your account.

Photos and illustration

Fal illustrates the book. For each generation, Fal gets a temporary copy of photos so it can draw the pages. Fal is the illustrator only. We do not train on your photos. We cannot delete Fal’s temporary copies.

You need an account to upload photos or generate a story.

Early access list

If you join the early access list, we keep your name, adult contact email, and optional notes about the book you want, so we can email you about launch. Joining does not create an account. We do not sell that list.

What we delete

When you delete your account, we delete the family file from our storage: photos, names, characters, and stories. If you deleted your account on or before October 7, your family file may not have been deleted at the time. If it wasn’t, we’ll finish deleting it.

When you remove a saved character from your library, we delete that character’s stored photos from our storage. Deleting a single book does not delete your saved characters or their photos. You can reuse them.

This is not a full legal policy written by a lawyer. It is what the product actually does. Terms of use are at /terms.
